This dog was condemned to die - Ask Phyllis Sullivan why.
This is one of the all time sweetest dogs we have met. Lovable,
friendly. |
This is Jeepers. He arrived
at the LA County Downey shelter. At Downey they have a volunteer,
Phyllis Sullivan, who evaluates each dog as it is removed from the truck,
and within seconds she decides which dogs can be adopted and which ones must
be killed. She decided this dog was dangerous and he almost died.
But we were there. And now some lucky Orange County family will have
the privilege of adopting him.
Phyllis has access to the dogs after hours and access to the computer so
she can enter into the system that the dog cannot be adopted. And
that's what is told to anyone wanting to adopt.
How can this volunteer have so much control over who lives and who dies
at the LA County Downey shelter?
Please visit the LA County website and read about their temperament
testing program. Then read the above description about how things
actually are at the Downey shelter system. |
