AMRT.NET  is dedicated to facilitating adoption of shelter and rescue pets in the Southern California area.  We believe there are a lot of pets euthanized in shelters while there are potential pet owners looking to adopt and cannot find them.   The goal of the creators of this web site is to assist potential pet owners in finding a shelter or rescued pet.

The Los Angeles Marathon has selected AMRT as a charity in it's Official Charities Program

When AMRT decided to take the big step to incorporate and obtain 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt Status, our primary reason was to request donations for some important programs.  The one dearest to my heart is this one - Save the Babies Program.

Here is the problem.  Litters of pups and kittens are born in the shelters.  The law in California requires that all shelters must spay or neuter every dog or cat unless there is a medical reason or the animal  is too young.     In that case a spay/neuter deposit is required.  This is a good law.  We don't want to change it.

So, the litter of 14 Dalmatian puppies and their mother that are our first Save the Babies litter cost the rescuer $900 to bail from the shelter.

The solution is not a "gift" of the money, as this money is refunded when the animals are spayed or neutered and proof submitted back to the shelter.  The rescuers simply need a loan up front to bail the babies out.  This loan can be repaid when the litter is spayed or neutered and then adopted.

Too many times I have seen rescuers begging for spare change to scrape up enough to get a litter out to safety.  In the case of the Dalmatians, their rescuer had $400, enough to take six of the pups and their mother.  Leaving the remaining 8 pups to die was simply not an option.

We believe if we can raise $10,000, this would be enough to bail out about 20 litters at a time, or about 60 litters a year.  So we are asking for your help.

Can you send a donation please to help fund this program.  Please send it to:
