AMRT.NET  is dedicated to facilitating adoption of shelter and rescue pets in the Southern California area.  We believe there are a lot of pets euthanized in shelters while there are potential pet owners looking to adopt and cannot find them.   The goal of the creators of this web site is to assist potential pet owners in finding a shelter or rescued pet.

The Los Angeles Marathon has selected AMRT as a charity in it's Official Charities Program

The Upland Animal Shelter called me because they had a "westie" they were going to put to sleep the next morning.  Asked me (Small Breed Dog Rescue) if I would take her.  I was surprised they would euthanize a very desirable dog and said yes.  They removed the dog from the shelter and boarded her for me until I could pick her up on Saturday.

In the meantime, they sent a photo so I could start advertising for a home.  Peggie Blakeley of Miniature Schnauzer Rescue, BMAJERSNZ@aol.com, saw the photo and told me this was a white miniature schnauzer, not a westie.  So I brought Lily to her, and left her in Peggie's care.  Lily was adopted yesterday to a home in Placentia.

Amazing what the proper grooming can accomplish!
