AMRT.NET  is dedicated to facilitating adoption of shelter and rescue pets in the Southern California area.  We believe there are a lot of pets euthanized in shelters while there are potential pet owners looking to adopt and cannot find them.   The goal of the creators of this web site is to assist potential pet owners in finding a shelter or rescued pet.

AMRT is now officially a California Corporation, Animal Match Rescue Team, Inc. and on Nov. 5, 2001,  we were informed that we indeed have been granted tax exempt status under 501(c)(3) from the IRS and from the California.

Our primary goal is to reduce euthanasia of unwanted companion animals.  We are focusing on spay and neuter and assisting Southern California shelters with adoption.  We also have a small Long Beach rescue which takes the dogs from the Long Beach Shelter that the SPCA-LA turned away.

Donations are used to provide veterinarian care for the dogs in our rescue and to support (finance) spay/neuter events in and around Los Angeles County.
